FACE-TO-FACE COMMUNITY ACTIVITY

Artist-led lottery funded project to create 3D printed sculptures for Cally Park railings

When: Introduction on Thurs 28 October 11am
Six weekly sessions, Thursdays at 2pm, then three further monthly sessions
At: Cally Clock Tower Centre, N7

What's it about?

Join us for a series of ten face-to-face Art Workshops that will be delivered by artist-educator Andrea Sinclair.

Recreate the heritage of Cally Park! Join an artist-led series of intergenerational workshops: researching and designing animal heads for 3D printing and installation on the railings around Cally Park.

Three of the cast iron animal heads that used to grace the railings of the park when the animal market was in operation are currently in the Islington Museum.

However, the heads that this project will create will have a contemporary theme.  We will research and reference the current animal population of Cally Park for inspiration eg birds, squirrels, dogs, cats, insects, amphibians etc.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit the 3D printing studio in Hackney and a hosted visit to Islington museum to see the original railing heads!

No experience is required, just enthusiasm and a commitment to attending the 10 special sessions.

Why attend?

  • Explore the 3D printing process
  • Meet others interested in art, history & nature
  • Enjoy a project with people of all ages
  • Cally Clock Tower Centre is a lovely new centre
  • Gain inspiration from the natural surroundings of Cally Park!
