Weekly from 23 February till 30 March 2022 (6 Weeks)

Cally Clock Tower Centre, Caledonian Park, N7 9HF.

Following the success of last year's workshops, Age UK Islington and Create are now bringing you a series of 6 Spoken Word Poetry workshops

Participants will work individually and in small groups to write words, ideas and stories to share & connect. There will be different writing activities each week exploring the imagination, observation, and mindfulness.

No experience of writing poetry is required. There are a limited number of places, and they will be booked on a first come, first served basis.

The session will have time for a short break in the middle. Participants should be able to attend all 6 sessions.

Host: Create is the UK’s leading charity enhancing wellbeing through the creative arts. Artist Emma McGordon will lead you through the activities. Emma is an award-winning poet, performer and community artist.

Benefits of attending:

  • Develop your interest in poetry.
  • Meet other Islington poetry enthusiasts.
  • Gain skills in various aspects of spoken word poetry – writing, reading, performance.
  • Cally Clock Tower Centre in Caledonian Park is a lovely setting for art activities.
