In the run-up to Carers Week, we're hosting an "Easy to Make Cakes" session to encourage everyone to bake "Cakes for Carers"!

When: Tuesday 18th May, 4 - 5pm

Ahead of National Carers Week, Islington Carers Hub is encouraging the local community to bake ‘Cakes for Carers’ to show appreciation for unpaid carers in Islington!

It’s well known that health and social care workers have been completely stretched over the pandemic, but it’s less well advertised how great the impact has been on those who are providing unpaid care to friends or family on a regular basis.

Volunteer Natascha Franklin will be hosting a Zoom session to provide inspiration on Tuesday 18th May, 4 – 5pm, with “Easy to Make Cakes”.

You can just watch the demonstrations, and have a go in
your own time, or cook alongside Natascha! It’s not just about the cooking, it’s about getting together with others, having a chat, and most importantly some fun!

Sharing recipes
Islington carers and ICH staff will also be sharing a new recipe every week in the run-up to Carers Week.  See the website for the first recipe from Islington carer, Jeanne: https://islingtoncarershub.org/cakes-for-carers/
